Cindy's Flowers offers same-day ranunculus delivery in Toronto and across the GTA. Order before 3 PM, Monday to Saturday, and your bouquet is arranged to order in our Toronto studio. Ranunculus season runs late winter through spring, when their layered, rose-like blooms anchor bouquets from $49. In season we keep two arrangements on the menu — a coral-and-blush posy and a deep burgundy bouquet — plus garden-style mixes year-round.

Frequently asked

Late winter through late spring, peaking March to May — ranunculus are a cool-weather crop, with Ontario-grown stems joining imports as the local season arrives. Cindy's Flowers carries them through the season and folds their colours into garden-style bouquets the rest of the year; order by 3 PM for same-day Toronto delivery.

Seven to ten days with basic care — and they keep opening the whole time, so the bouquet often looks better on day four than day one. Recut the hollow stems, keep the water shallow and fresh, and keep the vase cool. Every Cindy's Flowers ranunculus bouquet ships with care instructions.

In season, yes — order from Cindy's Flowers before 3 PM, Monday to Saturday, and a ranunculus bouquet is hand-tied that morning in our Toronto studio and delivered the same day across Toronto and the GTA. Outside the spring season we'll offer the closest garden-style alternative in the same palette.

Yes — like all buttercups, ranunculus are toxic to cats and dogs if chewed, causing drooling and stomach upset. Keep the vase out of reach, or tell Cindy's Flowers the household has pets and we'll arrange a pet-safe alternative in the same palette.

Same romance, different scale and season: ranunculus are smaller, tighter, papery, and peak March to May; peonies are enormous, blousy, and peak in June. Cindy's Flowers carries both in season — ranunculus for intricacy, peonies for abundance — from $49 with same-day Toronto delivery.

Yes — blooms arrive the size of marbles and finish the size of golf balls over most of a week, so the bouquet grows fuller on the recipient's table. It's why Cindy's Flowers recommends them for occasions a few days out, not just day-of.

When to send ranunculus

Ranunculus are romance flowers with a spring accent. They're a natural pick for anniversaries and date night when you want something softer-spoken than a dozen red roses, and their March-to-May peak makes them one of the best Mother's Day stems you can send. Because the blooms keep opening for days, they also suit occasions where the flowers should improve through the week — a thank-you or a just-because bouquet that peaks midweek on the recipient's desk.

February deserves a special mention: Valentine's week falls inside ranunculus season, and a burgundy ranunculus bouquet is the most original way in the shop to say what a dozen red roses says — Valentine's Day orders book a day ahead. They're also a natural for spring birthdays, where the keep-opening-for-a-week habit means the flowers peak mid-celebration rather than on delivery day.

Caring for your ranunculus

Ranunculus have hollow, slightly soft stems, so the care routine is about keeping water clean and the stem ends fresh. Recut a centimetre off each stem on the diagonal when the bouquet arrives, and stand them in cool water in a clean vase — filled about halfway, not to the brim, since submerged sections of a hollow stem break down faster. Change the water every two days, recutting a touch each time.

Keep the vase somewhere cool, out of direct sun and away from the fruit bowl (ripening fruit releases ethylene, which ages the blooms). Expect the flowers to keep opening for most of a week — buds that arrive tight and marble-sized will double in width. If a stem starts to bow under its bloom, that's character, not failure; ranunculus curve as they open. With clean water and a cool room, seven to ten days of vase life is normal.

Handle them by the stem, not the head — the papery petals bruise under fingers but shrug off almost everything else. And don't discard a stem whose outer petals brown at the edge; peel the outer layer like tissue paper and the bloom underneath is perfect.

About Ranunculus delivery in Toronto

Ranunculus look like roses drawn with tissue paper — dozens of petal layers so thin they're almost translucent, wound into a bloom the size of a golf ball that keeps opening for a week after it arrives. They're buttercups, botanically, which surprises people; nothing about the garden buttercup hints at what Ranunculus asiaticus does in a vase. Florists reach for them when a design needs the romance of a rose at a smaller scale, and they've become one of the most requested wedding and spring flowers in Toronto.

Season is the thing to know. Ranunculus are a cool-weather crop: the supply runs from late winter into late spring, peaking March through May, with Ontario-grown stems joining imports as the local season comes on. That spring window is why they anchor so many Mother's Day and anniversary bouquets — and why a ranunculus bouquet in June feels like catching the last of something. Outside the season we fold their colours — coral, blush, cream, burgundy — into garden-style bouquets with roses and peonies carrying the same shape.

You'll find ranunculus through our spring range and year-round in our romantic garden-style bouquets, every one hand-tied to order in our Toronto studio and delivered same-day across Toronto and the GTA on orders placed before 3 PM, Monday to Saturday.

In season, two dedicated arrangements carry the category: the Ranunculus Posy in coral, blush, and cream, and the Burgundy Ranunculus Bouquet for the moodier end of romantic. Year-round, ranunculus thread through our garden-style mixes — the Pastel Romance and Coral Peony & Garden Rose both lean on them for texture whenever stems are available.
