An affluent east-end village of Victorian semis, leafy parks, and the Greek Danforth.
On a Saturday from late May to mid-October, Withrow Park fills early. The farmers' market sets up near Logan Avenue, dogs circle the off-leash bowl, and families drift toward the ball diamonds and the ice rink. This green is the shared backyard of Riverdale, a family-minded east-end neighbourhood of leafy streets that sits just across the Don Valley from downtown Toronto. Walk south and you reach Riverdale Park East and West, with its running track, outdoor pool, and skyline-view tobogganing hills.
The streets between are the draw. De Grassi Street and Langley Avenue are lined with restored Victorian and Edwardian houses, most built between 1880 and 1924, and nearby Simpson Avenue holds the "Six Sisters," Riverdale's oldest Victorians. Broadview Avenue traces the western side just east of the Don Valley, past the Riverdale library, while the Danforth, Toronto's Greektown, forms the northern edge with its Greek bakeries and blue-and-white flags. At Broadview and Gerrard sits East Chinatown.
Who lives here shapes what we deliver.
