Frequently asked

Same-day delivery in East York runs on a 3 PM cutoff: order before then, Monday to Saturday, and the bouquet goes out that day. We build each one to order in our Toronto studio, then a driver carries it to the door, whether that's a Leaside porch or a tower near East York Town Centre. Earlier orders give us more room to reach the far end of the Danforth.

An East York order placed on a Sunday or a statutory holiday goes out on our next working day. We run routes Monday through Saturday, so anything that comes in after the 3 PM cutoff, on a holiday, or over a weekend waits for the next open day. A Sunday order bound for Pape Village, for instance, leaves first thing Monday.

Cindy's Flowers reaches every East York address from our Toronto studio, Leaside side streets and Crescent Town high-rises alike. The part worth planning for is the towers: for Thorncliffe Park and the buildings around East York Town Centre, add the unit number and buzzer code to your delivery notes, and mention the concierge desk if there is one, so the hand-off doesn't stall in the lobby.

Yes, we deliver to Michael Garron Hospital at 825 Coxwell Avenue, the building plenty of East Yorkers still know as Toronto East General. Hospitals generally route flowers through the front desk, so include the patient's full name and unit in your order notes, and check with the ward first for intensive care, since some units restrict flowers. Bright, cheerful get-well lilies hold up well on the trip, and a pre-3 PM order arrives the same day.

A bouquet bound for East York keeps its look even if one stem sells out. Since every arrangement is built fresh and the season decides what's in, a particular flower occasionally runs short. When it does, we swap in a comparable stem of the same value or higher, chosen to echo the colour, shape and mood of your original pick. A cheerful arrangement headed to Thorncliffe Park lands looking full and balanced, just with whatever is freshest that day.

Valentine's Day and Mother's Day are the two biggest dates on any florist's calendar, and East York feels it like everywhere else. Same-day delivery still holds on both, so a Crescent Town order in before 3 PM can arrive that day. The schedule does fill quickly, though, and a day or two of notice is the surest way to hold the exact bouquet and delivery day you have in mind.

Sympathy flowers near Michael Garron

There's a rhythm to a year in East York, and you can read a lot of it in flowers. A Friday bunch carried up to a Thorncliffe Park apartment for no reason at all. A spray that meets a new baby on the way home from the maternity ward. The quiet arrangement someone brings to a service near the Danforth, where the Greek community has marked its weddings and its goodbyes for generations. We design for those moments, by hand, the morning each bouquet sets out, so it arrives looking like someone meant it.

Lilies belong in a borough like this, and they work in two very different moods. White sympathy lilies, calm and softly scented, for a loss. The same flower in brighter colour for a get-well visit to Michael Garron Hospital on Coxwell, the one most locals still call Toronto East General. People in this corner of Toronto are practical and warm in roughly equal measure, and lilies suit that, especially since they reward a little care and keep going for days. They say the serious thing gently, and they last.

The everyday bouquet of a borough

The borough's signature bouquet isn't a big-occasion piece at all. It's the mixed bouquet, seasonal and hand-tied, sent up to the towers around East York Town Centre for a birthday or a housewarming, or left on a doorstep in Leaside just because someone was thinking of you. Leaside is one of the leafier, pricier pockets in the city; Thorncliffe Park is dense, young and gloriously multicultural. Different worlds, same instinct. When something good happens, flowers turn up.

Spring is when the borough loosens up. The bungalow streets near Stan Wadlow Park and the Don Valley ravine green over, and the flowers follow suit, all bright spring tulips and the first soft pastels of the season. We're a Toronto studio, not a shop on Pape Avenue, so we don't sell off a shelf. Every order is built fresh, wrapped for the trip rather than arranged into a vase, then driven to Pape Village, Crescent Town, Old East York, wherever in this stretch of Toronto it's headed. The recipient just trims the stems and gives the bouquet a vase of their own. Order before 3 PM and most days it lands the same one.

Have a look at what's in season this week, then tell us where in East York it's going. We'll handle the rest.

Delivery zones

Cindy's Flowers delivers hand-tied bouquets and seasonal flowers to every corner of East York, Ontario, across the postal prefixes M4B, M4C, M4G, M4H, M4J and M4K. Coverage takes in:

  • Leaside and Bennington Heights, near Bayview and Eglinton
  • Thorncliffe Park and Crescent Town, including the towers by East York Town Centre
  • Pape Village, Old East York and the O'Connor–Parkview blocks
  • Governor's Bridge, Topham Park and Bermondsey
  • Michael Garron Hospital on Coxwell Avenue

The mid-afternoon cutoff matters most for the hospital and the apartment towers, where reception hours and buzzer access shape when a driver can hand off. Place your order by 3 PM, Monday to Saturday, and your bouquet arrives the same day. Miss it and we deliver first thing the next working day. Just over the borough line, we also deliver to neighbouring North York and Scarborough.
